Hey there Honey's and New-Bees!
So I want to start this post by adding a disclaimer that these brownies very sweet, and have A LOT of sugar, and they are by no means low fat, or healthy lol! However, if you’re looking for a sweet and decadent indulgence that’s completely homemade then keep reading because your in for a fun little treat!
Years ago when I was on a baking spree I went on a mission to make what I considered to be “the perfect homemade brownie”. I know there are plenty of great homemade brownie recipes out there but none of them every really left me saying “WOW”, for me the perfect brownie is rich, moist and gooey, and doesn’t need any icing to give it that gooey fudge taste.
So my mission began and luckily I had more than a few good friends who were willing to “help me out” by taking the multiple trays of brownies off my hands and be official taste testers because there was no way I would have been able to eat that many brownies and live to tell about it. After about 2 weeks and about 12 batches I finally achieved what I was looking for and I’ve been making these brownies ever since!
Step 1 – Mix your Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl combine your flour, baking powder, and salt together. You want to mix these dry ingredients ahead of time to make sure they get evenly distributed in the batter, and not clump when you add the wet ingredients later on.
I know it seems like a really small step and for a long time I used to think it was a wast of time…but it’s not, remember a little goes a long way and adding this step really helps ensure that you get consistent results time over time.
Once everything well mixed, set the bowl aside for later.
Step 2 – Stovetop Cooking
In a wide base medium size pan melt your butter and cocoa on medium heat making sure to stir constantly. Once the butter has completely melted add you sugar and continue to stir everything together for another 4-5 minutes, then move the pan from the heat, whisk in the eggs, then stir in the vanilla.
Step 3 – Combine and Bake
Add your dry ingredients into the chocolate chocolate mixture, along with your walnuts (optional) and stir until everything is well combined, then transfer the batter into a 9”x13” baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25 minutes.
Let the brownies cool on the stove for about an hour then cut, serve and enjoy!
